After iPhones, Microsoft Office Mobile released for Android users with Office 365 subscriptions

Last month, Microsoft released Office for iPhone users and since then Android users have been waiting for the suite to come to their platform. Today, Microsoft has launched Office for Android users and like on the iPhone, this version too will require Office 365 subscription to use.

In terms of functionality, the app is very similar to its iOS counterpart and the suite includes apps like Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The files are saved on SkyDrive or SharePoint and also support offline editing. Additionally, users also get easy access to recently opened documents and the ability to view and edit Office documents attached to emails.

Microsoft Office requires a device to be running at least Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and can be downloaded from the Play Store, but at the time of filing this post, the app was not available in India.
