Symantec has announced an update for its Norton Mobile Security app for Android and iOS. The Android version gets stronger privacy protection, while the iOS variant gets better anti-theft protection.
The Android version of the app features an updated Norton Mobile Insight, a feature that essentially scans about 10,000 apps on over 200 app stores every day to look for potentially dangerous apps that might try accessing one’s personal information and accordingly warn users.
The iOS version, on the other hand, has improved anti-theft capabilities and introduces new features like ‘scream’, which triggers an alarm on a stolen device to help alert you if the device is still nearby and allows one to remotely place a call to the stolen device. In addition to the above, Norton Mobile Security now also checks an app’s privacy settings regularly and alerts an user if the app is compromising the security in any way.
To download the latest version of Norton Mobile Security head over to the Google Play Store or the App Store. You can then upgrade to the premium version by paying $29.99 (Rs 1,800 approximately) per year.
