iPhone 6s mini With 4-Inch Display Tipped to Launch in 2015

Apple fans who were disappointed with the launch of the large screen iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in September this year, might soon see a 4-inch iPhone with an iPhone 6-like design arrive in 2015.

Timothy Arcuri, an analyst from Cowen and Company, is reported to have issued a note to Apple investors stating that the Cupertino-based tech firm might be working on a 4-inch handset, which might be called as iPhone 6s mini.

Apple Insider, which claims to have procured a copy of the issued note, also adds that the specifications of the rumoured mini smartphone will match with that of iPhone 5s' and the design with iPhone 6. This piece of information however should be taken with a pinch of salt as Arcuri's predictions is said to be mixed.

If Arcuri's prediction proves to be correct, the iPhone 6s mini could replace the iPhone 5c - the company's current budget smartphone - in the market. The analyst has also added that Apple might rely on Qualcomm for the iPhone 6s mini's components in order to keep the pricing down.

Apple in September this year launched the large screen iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus handsets showing that it is willing to change its beliefs to cater to the moving market landscape. However, some observers also saw this surprise move by the firm as a bit of a U-turn, based on public comments made by the company earlier.

Arcuri not only sparked rumours for the iPhone 6s mini but also said that Apple's long rumoured 12.9-inch tablet is well under works and might be launched in Spring next year. The tablet is said to 'reinvigorate' the product category. Apple plans to ship 15 million to 20 million units of the rumoured tablet initially.

Apple to Launch Its First Wearable Device in October

Apple Inc. Reports say that apple is preparing for launching its first wearable device in october. it will produce 3 million to 5 million units in its first initial month.

Specifications are still being finalised, but the devices are likely to sport curved OLED (organic light-emitting diode) displays and sensors that collect health data from blood glucose and calorie consumption to sleep activity, the Japanese news service cited industry sources as saying.

" Though the details of services have yet to be released, specs for the new product are being finalised, according to industry sources. It will likely use a curved organic light-emitting diode (OLED) touchscreen and collect health-related data, such as calorie consumption, sleep activity, blood glucose and blood oxygen levels. It will also allow users to read messages sent by smartphones.
Apple appears confident of the new product. According to a parts manufacturer, it plans monthly commercial output of about 3-5 million units, which exceeds the total global sales of watch-like devices last year. This confidence is backed by its partnerships with high-profile hospitals - it has teamed up with the Mayo Clinic and the Cleveland Clinic, U.S. health institutes based in Minnesota and Ohio, respectively, to develop specific ways of analysing the collected data and applying it to actual health management."

iPhone user hates iOS 7 so much that he’s suing Apple over it

Brighter colors and flat icons just aren’t for everybody. That said, it seems that iPhone user Mark Menacher hates them much more than anyone else. CNET reports that Menacher has actually filed a suit against Apple in small claims court and is asking the company to let him remove the iOS 7 install file from his iOS devices. Menacher is particularly irked that the upgrade to iOS 7 happened automatically and that he has no way of going back to iOS 6.

Apple iPhone 5S review

Apple’s iPhone 5s represents the biggest “S” upgrade an iPhone has ever seen. Beyond the internals, Apple’s new Touch ID fingerprint scanner also makes the 5s the first “S” upgrade ever to include a major new user-facing hardware feature. The processor is better, two of the color options are new, the battery lasts longer, the camera takes better photos and even the display is slightly easier on the eyes thanks to its cooler tone. But as a total package in the context of being an upgrade from last year’s iPhone model, Apple’s iPhone 5s may very well be the least impressive jump to date.

iOS 7 takes another beating in critique from design expert

We have covered Apple’s new iOS 7 software extensively and we’re clearly fans of Apple’s mobile overhaul. iOS 7 is more about renovation than innovation, but Apple did an impressive job of redesigning every visual element of the platform while still managing to maintain familiarity for longtime iOS users. Of equal importance, Apple also laid the groundwork for innovation in upcoming new builds of iOS. But not everyone is impressed, and the Nielsen Norman Group recently panned iOS 7 in an extensive user experience review. Now, a new critique from a well-credentialed designer further supports the notion that Apple made some serious missteps in iOS 7, and that it has a lot of work to do if it hopes to clean things up.

Apple looks to ban newer Samsung phones with latest appeal

After successfully filing for an import ban against Samsung, which was recently upheld by the U.S. government, Apple is looking to add insult to injury by appealing elements of the International Trade Commission ruling it does not believe are harsh enough.
Florian Mueller of FOSS Patents discovered the appeal, which “could theoretically result in an import ban over up to three more patents, a reversal of the ITC’s decision to clear certain workarounds, and [...] a technically broader ban.” Mueller believes that Samsung will appeal in the coming weeks as well, and as the legal war continues, Apple will sharpen its focus on battles that it can win. The ITC ban only affects older Samsung phones as it stands, but if Apple’s appeal does in fact broaden the ban, Samsung’s current U.S. handset lineup could be in peril.

iPhone 5s apps crash twice as often as they do on iPhone 5, iPhone 5c

New hardware launches are often plagued with various bugs and errors that are gradually accounted for in the weeks and months following release. Apple’s latest smartphones have both received a fair amount of criticism for security breaches and exorbitant prices, but one issue only seems to be present on the iPhone 5s. AllThingsD shared a report from Crittercism which states that “programs crash about two percent on the iPhone 5s, as compared to just under one percent on both the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5.”
