We have been hearing rumors about the Sony Xperia i1 aka Honami for a long time. It’s apparently, the phone which will combine a large 20-megapixel Cyber-shot branded camera and a Snapdragon 800 CPU in one package creating a menacing Sony flagship. Now, more information has surfaced about the device via the Xperia Blog, which claims that it will have multiple camera modes, a new Sony Android UI and an augmented reality app that will be similar to Nokia’s Here CityLens.
The leak apparently came from a Canadian carrier build which refers to the device as C6906. The build reveals that indeed it is powered by the Snapdragon 800 CPU and its 20-megapixel camera will amazingly be able to shoot 4k video. It will have a new super resolution algorithm set and its ISO level will go all the way up to 12,800 and will have a steady shot mode.
It will also have an augmented reality app called Info-eye, which will be similar to Nokia CityLens. This is something that our sources have also confirmed. It will be packed with an array of imaging features including a Timeshift Burst mode. Sony has also added a new camera API that will allow the ability to add functions to the camera app called “Xperia camera add-ons.” Some of the new camera modes included are Bokeh, Info-eye, Manual, Socialcast, Timeshift and Effect mode.
In addition to this, there will be a new Sony UI which will include a new Walkman app, a new launcher that has a slightly tweaked look and new apps for clock, album, conversations, phonebook, settings, calendar.
