Note taking application Evernote has launched the beta version of its Evernote 5 app for Windows for desktop which dons an all new avatar with a redesigned UI offering over 100 new features for users. Besides this, the company has also announced an updated version for its app for iOS which comes with shortcuts to notes, tags, files and more, related notes for premium users, and support for Skitch app to add images to the notes.
The all new Evernote 5 in beta boasts a revamped look and easier-to-use features, and brings the app’s interface at par the Mac version of the app. Evernote users on desktops will now be able to access new search and discovery tools.
The new updated iOS app has upgraded the Favorites feature to Shortcuts which will ease finding important notes, notebooks and tags by adding shortcuts to these with a single tap. The company had earlier introduced Shortcuts to its app for Android. This will also allow syncing of new Shortcuts that one has created on their iOS devices to other platforms as well. Moreover, one can now also add shortcuts to saved searches. The app will now also display the recently viewed notes at the bottom of an open note to let the user juggle between notes with a simple tap.
The new version on iOS also brings the Related Notes feature for the premium users to let them relate their new notes to the ones saved and clipped earlier. The old notes related to the new content will automatically be displayed at the bottom of the current note. Another interesting addition is the integration of the Skitch app which will allow users to create and add new images anywhere in their notes.
