Samsung has launched its 85-inch 85S9 Ultra HD TV in India for a mind boggling Rs 27,00,000. The TV was originally announced at CES and then we got to see it again at the Samsung Forum event in Hyderabad.
The TV is Samsung’s first Ultra HD (4K) offering in India, and it offers an unique design language that integrates a massive 120-watt speaker system in the frame. It can also up scale HD or full HD video to Ultra HD resolutions, and it comes with Samsung’s One connect solution that eliminates cable clutter..
Additionally, it supports Samsung’s smart evolution kit that allows the user to swap out a motherboard with an upgraded version that has better processing chops for and keeps the user updated with the latest features.
Interestingly, Samsung is entering the market at the Ultra premium level and is not adopting Sony’s approach which is trying to bring down the price of Ultra HD TVs so that it becomes a mass consumer product.
