Yahoo’s acquisition juggernaut continues to push forward without any signs of slowing down. After acquiring two startups— Bignoggins and Qwiki— in as many days, the Sunnyvale-based company announced that it has now acquired Xobni, an email and address book management service.
For those who aren’t familiar, Xobni launched in 2007 and is a service that integrates with your email accounts to update the contact list using data from social networking sites.
Its Smartr app for iOS and Android, meanwhile sorts your contacts according to their importance. The app works with clients like Outlook, Gmail, iCloud and Yahoo! mail.
As far as plans for Xobni goes, the 31-member team has packed its bags and will be moving to the Yahoo HQ and their technology will be integrated into Yahoo’s products like email and IM. Xobni also mentioned that existing users will still be able to use the apps, but it wouldn’t accept new users for the time being.
Though details of the deal were not revealed, TechCrunch believes that the acquisition is worth somewhere around $60 million.
