Samsung’s “Gear” smartwatch speculated to be launched along with Galaxy Note III in September

Samsung is reportedly planning to launch its much rumored smartwatch ahead of the IFA event in Berlin. According to a new report from Patently Apple, the company will finally be unveiling the new wearable device under an all new Gear series in early September, during its press event for Galaxy Note III. The company has for long been in rumors to the Galaxy Note III on September 4, which is a few days before the expected launch of Apple’s next generation devices.

Samsung has been developing a smartwatch for quite some time now. Though some information about the wearable device has leaked in the past, and the company has also confirmed wearable devices in the making, there is an uncertainty about the launch time of the product. However if the rumors turn true, a launch at this time clearly indicates that the company wants to lead ahead of its arch rival Apple which is also working on launching iWatch sometime early next year.

Besides Samsung and Apple, while Sony is leading the market by already introducing its smartwatches, companies like Foxconn and others are also running in the same race. Apart from these, Dell, LG and Microsoft have also been rumored to be working on similar wearable devices.
