Vine has released the biggest update yet for its iOS app bringing with it a host of new features. Version 1.3 introduces content channels, grids, focus and ghost features to shoot the best video in six seconds. Yes, Vine still allows recording of only six second videos.
Boosting its social media features, Vine adds 15 new channels or categories in which you can submit or explore new videos. These channels include cats, music, nature and comedy among others.
There’s a new ‘On the Rise’ section, where Vine will promote videos that have gone viral and are trending, giving them more visibility. Vine also allows users to ‘Revine’ specific videos, which sounds and functions like retweet on Twitter.
To record better quality videos, Vine has introduced new capture tools like grid and ghost and also allows seasoned videographers to play around with the focus and exposure settings of your recorder. You can download the Vine update now for iOS devices from the App Store.
Vine has been facing stiff competition from Video on Instagram, the new video recording service that allows users to record 15 second videos using more than 13 filters and features like Cinema.
