After Android, Flipkart’s ebook app debuts on iOS and Windows Phone devices

After having made a debut on the Android platform late last year, Flipkart’s ebook app has now made its way onto other platforms. The app is now available for free on the App Store and Windows Phone Store and has also got an improved web interface.

The app is quite similar to how the Kindle app works and you can buy books off the store and read them on your device. Flipkart has also added its own features like the ‘FlipStream technology’ that is said to speed up the reading experience, a recommendations system that keeps track of a reader’s reading habits and FlipSync, which syncs your last read page across all your devices. Personalization features include choosing reading modes, font sizes and orientation among others. One can also highlight text, take notes, bookmark pages and even refer to a dictionary while reading, without having to leave the app.
Flipkart also announced that it has signed a deal with Nokia, which will see its app pre-loaded on future Lumia devices. These apps will also offer written pieces from eminent writers like Khushwant Singh and Sidin Vadukut, which will be exclusive to Lumia users.
