Twitter is steadily rolling out a more improved search engine on its web version, which is more in line with what Google calls ‘Universal Search’. In addition to displaying people and top tweets, the improved search will also include photos, videos and social context.
This feature is slowly being rolled out, so not all will be able to see it at the moment. In the meantime though, SearchEngineLand has posted a series of screenshots of Twitter’s new search system. From now on, when you search something, the results will be broadly classified into three categories—People, Photos and Social Context
As seen in the screenshots above, a search for ‘Google Glass’ shows the people associated with the term, followed by Top Tweets and then Photos. Also while typing a term to search, Twitter will show you the people you follow associated with that term, while also suggesting you new ones to follow.This feature is slowly being rolled out, so not all will be able to see it at the moment.
