Amazon’s Associate Program now available for Indian websites

Amazon India today announced a new Associates program for India, where websites can earn revenue by displaying relevant content and referring visitors to Amazon’s store. The program is free to join and for a limited time Amazon is also offering higher commission rates.
What this program essentially does is pay a small commission to websites or blogs for displaying Amazon-related ads and also when users click on them.
The ads can be for books, electronics, DVDs, CDs and Kindle. When a user clicks on one of the ads and also buys a product from the store, Amazon offers a commission to the website where the user came from. As a part of an introductory offer, Amazon is offering 5 percent for Consumer Electronics to 10 percent for other products.
Amazon’s Associates will also get access to an exclusive portal where they can view traffic and earnings and also can add or modify a range of widgets for their online publication.
“Millions of online websites, small and big, around the world showcase relevant Amazon products and earn high commissions,” Amazon India’s Amit Agarwal said. “It is a win-win proposition, your visitors see contextually relevant products and you have a new source of income. Associates in India will have access to the same tools and the trustworthy tracking and reporting that millions of associates worldwide have enjoyed over the last 17 years.”
