The official Facebook app on Windows Phone 8 has been updated to version 5.0. The latest version, which was available as a beta for quite some time now, has been released bringing with it a new UI and new features too.
Facebook version 5.0 brings a completely overhauled UI alongside the popular Facebook Timeline view, which brings this app on par with its Android and iOS counterparts. Additionally, the app now supports high resolution photos and also lets users share their favorite posts.

Facebook also revealed that it is simultaneously working on updating its app on Windows Phone 7, which should arrive in the coming weeks. The social giant also released a new Facebook Beta app for users who like to experience newer features before it has been released to the masses.
