Internet Explorer 11 developer preview for Windows 7 released

Last month, Microsoft announced Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 8.1 at the Build conference, and as promised, the latest version of the web browser is slowly coming to Windows 7. The Redmond-based company has released a developer preview of Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7.

Microsoft promises that IE 11 on Windows 7 will offer the same features as on Win 8.1. Microsoft’s new JavaScript engine called Chakra offers high performance and quicker page load times, and the company also claims that performance is better than Chrome, Firefox and Opera. In addition to the above, IE 11 will also offer new standards support for next generation sites, and the only absence is the Metro-theme.
Being a developer preview version, IE 11 brings hardware accelerated 3D Web graphics thanks to technologies like WebGL and also now supports plugin free HTML 5 video. It also includes a set of completely revised F12 developer tools that borrows heavily from Microsoft’s Visual Studio.
