Sony Xperia C featuring 5-inch display, dual-SIM and Android Jelly Bean officially launched in India for Rs 21,490

After being up for pre-orders on various e-commerce sites earlier this month, the Xperia C has been officially launched in the country by Sony. The mid-range Android smartphone is available at retail stores and e-commerce sites for Rs 21,490.
To recap on the specifications, the Xperia C which was first unveiled at the Mobile Asia Expo sports a 5-inch qHD (960×540 pixels) display and is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, making it the first Sony smartphone to be powered by a MediaTek SoC.
Other features included are 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera, front camera, 4GB of internal storage that can be expanded using a microSD card and a battery that Sony claims can survive through 14 hours of talk time and 588 hours on standby mode.

On the connectivity front, the device features dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and on the software front, the device runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Sony will be offering the device in black, white and purple color variants and in terms of competition it will be up against the likes of Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos, Intex Aqua i7 and the Gionee Elife E6 among others.
