Truecaller partners with Twitter in India

Truecaller today announced it has partnered with Twitter in India that will integrate a user’s Twitter id to their Truecaller profile. Now users will be able to see if someone’s Twitter id is linked to their phone number and will be able to interact via Twitter directly from the app itself.
“Our partnership with Twitter is an unparalleled opportunity to enhance the Truecaller service and insert a more robust social element to the experience. With this new integration, a Truecaller user can instantly tweet back to a missed call that has a Twitter account connected to the phone number.
This is especially valuable for users in India who are looking for a fast, free and reliable way to communicate,” says Alan Mamedi, CEO & co-founder at Truecaller.

Truecaller has confirmed to BGR India that Twitter won’t have access to a user’s Truecaller profile when they link it with their Twitter id. However, the partnership is beneficial to Twitter India as well considering Truecaller is one of the most popular apps in the country. Truecaller had earlier launched a Facebook app that let users look up phone numbers.
The integration with Twitter is currently available on Android and will come to the iOS app sometime next year.
