Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) unveiled its first ever eight-core processor with a clock rate of 5GHz at E3 2013 - Electronic Entertainment Expo, the annual video game conference and show at the Los Angeles today, reports PCMAG.
Named as FX-9590, it is became the most powerful processor in the company's FX family of CPUs. It will initially be sold in gaming and multimedia desktop PCs through AMD's system integrator partners, though the chip maker appeared to leave the door open for a standalone "Black Edition" being made available at some point.
