Nokia brings YouTube upload app to Windows Phone

After all the bickering between Microsoft and Google over an unofficial YouTube app for Windows Phones, Nokia has managed to launch a YouTube upload app for Windows Phone smartphones. While this may not be the official YouTube app one hoped for, at least this app will allow Nokia Lumia users upload their fantastic videos on to the most popular video site in the world.

Currently, The Verge is reporting that the app only works with the Lumia 1020, which indeed does have a fantastic camera. There is no word about support for the Lumia 920 or Lumia 925 or the other Windows Phone 8 based devices, but the report suggest that the app is not working with the Windows Phone 7.8 based Lumia 800 and Lumia 900.
That said, the app’s description page suggests that WVGA displays are supported, so at least the Lumia 520, Lumia 620, Lumia 625, the Lumia 720 and the Lumia 820 should be supported. We will test this ourselves and update the post accordingly.
